Arena Lisbon International Meeting 2024
Swim England South West was the overall winner of the 2024 edition of the Arena Lisbon International Meeting. Sporting Clube de Portugal climbed to second place on the collective podium and Sport Lisboa e Benfica reached third place.
With a strong representation of 29 swimmers, the very homogeneous British team collected 17 podiums in the thirty-eight events of the event, winning with a total of 1043 points. The always very strong teams of Sporting Clube de Portugal and Sport Lisboa e Benfica achieved 744 and 721 points respectively, followed by Chelsea and Westminster SC (480 pts), Sport Algés and Dafundo (307 pts) and Brazil National Team (264 pts).
In individual performances, it is worth highlighting the highest FINA score ever achieved at the meeting, achieved by Englishman Lewis Burras from Loughborough University in the 100m freestyle event with a time of 48.77s, representing 887 FINA pts, winning the trophy for this category. In the women’s category, it was Brazilian Nathalia Almeida, whose performance in the 200m Styles scored 825 FINA pts, took the trophy.
